How To Specify A 3 4 Pressure Gauge Connection And Thread Size(images 1)

What exactly does the 3/4 inch size refer to

Seeing the writing of 3 4 pressure gauge, the direction is actually not difficult to judge. It says three-quarters of an inch, which is 3/4 inch. What’s really prone to error is that a pressure gauge can have two dimensions simultaneously: the nominal diameter of the dial and the thread specifications of the process interface. Also write 3/4, referring to the dial and referring to the interface are two completely different things. The former refers to the dial diameter, and the latter refers to the nominal size of the interface thread. When reading, you must first distinguish which side it falls on.

Dial diameter and interface threads should be confirmed separately

The nominal dimensions of a pressure gauge describe the nominal diameter of the dial or case, and it is not in the same dimension as the process interface dimensions, range, or accuracy level. Looking at the writing method of omitting field names like 3/4 or 3 4, it is difficult to determine whether it refers to the dial or the interface, and it is even more impossible to directly generate the order code. To truly set up a watch, the dial diameter and interface thread fields must be clearly written. Especially when replacing an old watch, it is often not enough to measure the outer diameter of the case, and the thread standard and sealing method must also be checked.

The thread standard determines whether it can be screwed on and sealed

The most common classifications on one side of the interface are NPT and BSP. NPT is a tapered pipe thread that follows ASME B1.20.1. It forms a mechanical connection by the taper interference on the side of the thread. It usually also needs to be matched with a sealing material that is compatible with the medium and temperature to block the spiral leakage path. BSP needs to be further subdivided. The G thread is a parallel thread and does not rely on the thread to form a pressure seal. It requires a sealing pad or O-ring to seal it; R, Rc, and Rp are the mating threads that can rely on thread sealing. NPT and G threads may differ in taper, tooth shape, and pitch, and even if they can be screwed into a few buckles, they cannot be considered compatible. Common thread positions in pressure gauges include 1 8 npt pressure gauge, 1/8 npt pressure gauge, an eighth-inch NPT, 1 4 npt pressure gauge, a quarter-inch NPT, and up another half-inch.

The writing of dimensions is not uniform

These sizes are often simplified in descriptions, and the writing style and caliber are different. 1 8 pressure gauge and 1 8 inch pressure gauge both refer to the 1/8 inch position; 1 4 pressure gauge and 1/4 pressure gauge refer to the 1/4 inch; 1 2 pressure gauge is 1/2 inch, 1 1 2 pressure gauge is 1 1/2 inch, 2 1 2 pressure gauge is 2 1/2 inch, and 3/4 pressure gauge is 3/ 4 inches, and the 3 4 pressure gauge is essentially in the same 3/4 inch gear as it. The common feature of these writing methods is that the size information of slashes or spaces is incorporated into the model description. When reading it, the size must be restored first, and then it can be determined whether it is a dial or an interface.

The combination of range and interface should be viewed separately

In addition to dimensions, ranges are often written into the same string of descriptions. 0 30 psi pressure gauge 1 4 npt says range 0–30 psi, interface 1/4 NPT, 0 60 psi pressure gauge 1 4 npt says range 0–60 psi, interface also 1/4 NPT. These two fields correspond to pressure range and process connection respectively and cannot be substituted for each other. The 0-30 psi pressure gauge 1 in is a 0–30 psi range with a 1-inch setting, while the 100 psi pressure gauge 1.5 in is a 100 psi range with a 1.5-inch dial. The size of the range selection depends on the normal operating pressure, starting fluctuations and foreseeable peaks; the size of the interface selection depends on the existing threads on the field pipelines and equipment. The two things are different.

Confirm the parameters item by item before placing the order

To turn expressions like 3 and 4 pressure gauge into an executable order specification, at least confirm the pressure type, range and unit, accuracy, dial diameter, interface thread standards and dimensions, sealing method, contact material, installation direction and required certificates. You cannot just write an industrial pressure gauge. In terms of range, 0–30 psi belongs to the low range segment, 30 psi is approximately 206.843 kPa, 60 psi is approximately 413.685 kPa, and 100 psi is approximately 689.476 kPa. When selected, allow the normal operating pressure to fall within a clearly readable range while covering fluctuations and peaks. On the interface, 1/8 NPT, 1/4 NPT, and 1/2 NPT cannot be replaced based solely on appearance; the internal and external threads, permissible pressure, and matching fittings must also be checked. Align these fields item by item, and this 3/4-inch table will truly be accurate, fit, and stable.
